The 22nd annual AIDS Walk Atlanta drew thousands of people to Piedmont Park on Sunday, Oct. 21, for the walk that raised just under $1 million dollars for beneficiaries. The popular 5K run also had about 1,100 registered runners this year. The beautiful weather helped the turnout of the thousands of people who walked through the streets of Atlanta raising money for organizations that serve those who are impacted by HIV/AIDS. On display in the park were several panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt as well. SunTrust raised the most money of all teams registered and led the walk. Those who raised more than $1,000 received cute sparkly crowns.
