The FBI issued late today a press release asking for the public's help in locating the third identified suspect in the videotaped beating of Brandon White. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed has promised a $25,000 reward in this case.

White, who is gay, was brutally attacked and repeatedly called "faggot" on Feb. 4 by gang members in the Pittsburgh community in southwest Atlanta. At least one gang member videotaped the beating and posted it to a hip hop website.

Police have arrested two other suspects in the beating, Christopher Cain and Dorian Moragne, who turned himself in to the Atlanta Police Department.

The third suspect, Dareal Demare Williams, is believed to be hiding from police in Pennsylvania.

The full release from the FBI office in Pittsburgh, Pa.:

The FBI has received information that DAREAL DEMARE WILLIAMS, a fugitive wanted out of Atlanta, Georgia, is currently hiding out in the Erie Area (of Pennsylvania).  WILLIAMS, a known member of the “Pittsburgh Jack City Gang”, is believed to be staying with friends and relatives in the Erie Area.

The “Pittsburgh Jack City Gang” also known as “Jack City 1029” is a violent street gang based out of Atlanta, Georgia. An arrest warrant was issued for WILLIAMS out of Fulton County Georgia for aggravated assault and robbery from an incident occurring February 4, 2012.

The charges were filed after members of Atlanta Police Department were alerted to a video of the incident that the suspects had apparently uploaded online.  WILLIAMS, a minor, was charged as an adult for his role in the robbery and assault. A significant cash reward is being offered by the Atlanta authorities for information leading to the arrest of WILLIAMS.  As always, anyone providing information may remain anonymous.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of WILLIAMS should call the Erie FBI office at 814-452-4516 or after hours 412-432-4000 or the Erie Police Department.

In Atlanta, those with information can call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477 or Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers at 1-800-472-8477 in order to be eligible for the $25,000 being offered for information leading to Williams’ arrest and conviction.

The FBI continues to investigate if the beating of Brandon White can be classified as a federal hate crime. White, 20, spoke to reporters at a Feb. 8 press conference saying he would like to see his attackers prosecuted under the federal hate crimes law. He also called them "monsters."

State Rep. Rashad Taylor said at a community rally to support White as well as the Pittsburgh community that he would soon introduce a hate crimes bill in Georgia. Georgia is one of five states without a hate crimes law.

In an interview with GA Voice, White said he would forgive his attackers in order to move on with his life.

“I would probably tell them I do forgive you guys. I can't move on with my life if I don't forgive you guys, and I do forgive them. It was a very immature decision they made, very immature,” White said.
