Yesterday might have been Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, but local businesses and activists will host their own demonstrations tomorrow, in what's being called National Same-Sex Kiss Day. At least four groups are planning local protests. Carma Productions, the force behind the Gayborhood App and The Gay Community Yellow Pages, will be outside the Chick-fil-A in Decatur from noon to 2 p.m. Carma will be handing out coupons to gay-owned and gay-friendly local businesses and will have other giveaways for participants. Today, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) threw its weight behind the Decatur protests and organizer Marci Alt. “Without question, Dan Cathy has every right to voice his opinions and beliefs,” said GLAAD President Herndon Graddick in a media release issued this afternoon. “But he should meet and get to know the people that he’s speaking out against – the people who are harmed by his company’s multi-million dollar donations to anti-gay hate groups working to hurt everyday LGBT Americans and break apart loving families.” The Decatur Chick-fil-A is located at 105 E Trinity Pl, Decatur, Ga. 30030. Another group is planning to demonstrate at the Colony Square Chick-fil-A from 1-1:10 p.m. tomorrow. The street address is 1197 Peachtree Street Northeast, Atlanta, Ga. 30309 Other LGBT activists are also planning a protest at noon at the Chick-fil-A near the MARTA Lindbergh station. The address is 2580 Piedmont Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30324. And finally, a fourth group of protesters plan to stage a kiss-in at the CNN Center Chick-fil-A from 5-9 p.m. The address is CNN Center Do you know of any other planned protests? If so, please email [email protected].
