During October, which is LGBT History Month and the month for Atlanta Pride, StoryCorps Atlanta is seeking gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people to share their stories.

In conjunction with Georgia Equality and several other Atlanta LGBT organizations, StoryCorps OutLoud is now taking reservations for people to record a conversation with a loved one. Each recording is free and will also be preserved in the Library of Congress.

“StoryCorps OutLoud is a project to record and preserve the voices of LGBTQ individuals across the nation,” states a press release. “Sharing our stories honors the history, struggles, and character of our community, and preserving them in the Library of Congress will ensure all voices and experiences are celebrated and remembered for generations to come.”

In June, StoryCorps held an “Out & OutLoud” event at Radial Café and played some of the conversations already made by LGBT people in the community.

StoryCorps can be heard on WABE 90.1 FM on Tuesday during Morning Edition at 7:35am, Tuesday during City Café between 12-1 p.m., and Friday during Morning Edition between 6-7 a.m. and 8-9 a.m.
