Atlanta Bear Fest begins today and wraps up Monday with a farewell brunch, bringing together hirsute men who love men and those who love them for a weekend of growling and prowling. This year’s theme, “Lock Down,” conjures up some sexy images of guards and prisoners. And apparently security is going to be tight — check out these “secret memos” from the “warden.” Numerous events are lined up all weekend for ABF 2010. Most of the ABF events will take place at the host hotel, Courtyard Northlake Marriott, 4083 LaVista Road, Tucker, GA 30083.
The annual event, sponsored by Southern Bears, costs $99 at the door and includes pool parties and an open bar at the host hotel. The Atlanta Eagle and the Heretic are also opening their arms to all bears and an ABF beer bust is slated for Sunday at F.R.O.G.S. Cantina from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. A full list of events can be found here. It’s Bear Saturday at the Heretic tomorrow with DJ Jay McCracken beginning at 11 p.m., following a foam party fundraiser for Joining Hearts that begins at 7 p.m. with DJ Mike Pope. The Atlanta Eagle has DJ Pat spinning on Saturday to welcome ABF attendees.
