Tomorrow is the first debate between President Barack Obama and GOP nominee Mitt Romney and several watch parties are planned by Democrats and Republicans.
For LGBT voters who want to watch with other LGBT voters, politicos and allies, there are two specific parties being sponsored by Georgia LGBT political groups. The debate begins at 9 p.m. and is slated to last 90 minutes.

Today marks the official one-year anniversary of the repeal of the discriminatory law barring gays and lesbians from openly serving in the United States armed services.
The law, known as “Don't Ask, Don't Tell,” was the basis for more than 13,000 military discharges from 1993 to 2011. It was signed into law by then-President Bill Clinton and was originally intended to keep the public and private lives of soldiers separate.
President Barack Obama commented today on the one-year anniversary by praising the armed services for adapting to the change in policy. Obama fulfilled a campaign promise by signing repeal into law.

Former President Bill Clinton stuck mostly to economic issues during his speech last night at the 2012 Democratic National Convention. Clinton, along with Massachusetts U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren, ignited the crowd ahead of the official presidential nomination process.
Clinton's speech, some 48 minutes long, stayed away from social issues like abortion and same-sex marriage rights.
Former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney and his running-mate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wi.) were the targets of much of Clinton's speech, which hit back at the GOP ticket by dissecting the Republican positions on health care and taxes.

Fort Worth City Councilmember Joel Burns, who drew national media attention when his story of surviving bullying went viral, is headed to Atlanta later this month to support "Breaking Through," a project from local filmmaker Cindy Abel.
Burns will be on hand for a Sept. 27 fundraiser for the film, which tells the personal stories of openly gay elected officials around the country. Details of the event are TBA.
"Joel is coming because he knows 'Breaking Through' will bring hope: to teens who, like he once did, are wondering if life will have purpose and [if they should] commit suicide, and to adults, who conclude their career choices will be limited if they’re openly gay," Abel said in an email announcing the fundraiser.

The Democratic National Convention is underway in Charlotte. Democrats from across the country have gathered to officially nominate President Barack Obama and to drum up support before the fall election season gets underway.
First Lady Michelle Obama stole the show during her closing speech last night. She talked about her husband, the couples' history and continuing his vision ahead of the November election. There were some laughs but mostly a touching account of the couple before, during and after the last presidential election.
The first lady also recognized the ongoing struggle for marriage equality:
