“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” bashed Cindy McCain and her husband, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), last night over the couple’s recent “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” flop. Cindy McCain appeared in a recent promotional video for the NOH8 campaign where she said, "Our political and religious leaders tell LGBT youth that they have no future.” Sen. McCain has been an ardent supporter of the anti-gay military policy and has vowed to fight Congressional repeal with a filibuster. On Friday of last week, Cindy McCain recanted her position on the issue via Twitter, saying that she agrees with her husband’s stance on DADT, despite appearing in a video that claimed otherwise. “The Daily Show” took the couple to task and even filmed their own PSA called “It Gets Worse” where they compare John McCain's legacy to that of segregationist George Wallace.
