| ‘Daily Show’ weighs in on anti-gay Ga. GOP runoff |

Last night’s "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" highlighted the Republican gubernatorial runoff between Karen Handel and eventual winner Nathan Deal. The segment highlighted the endorsements Deal and Handel received in the run-up to Tuesday’s vote. Deal was endorsed by former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. Handel received the backing of “Momma Grizzly” Sarah Palin. Stewart compared the endorsements and their impact on the race: "How does Sarah Palin lose a proxy war? She’s a grizzly bear! What do they have in Georgia that can kick a grizzly bear’s ass?" Cut to Nathan Deal’s now infamous commercial which called out Handel’s alleged support over past gay issues. "Oh, the gay monster. That’s what beats the grizzly bear." To view the full segment, check out the video below:
