Staff picks for the best covers of the year

For our Aug. 31 issue, we ran two separte covers. The first was all about Labor Day Weekend's Black Gay Pride. The second highlighted the upcoming "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" repeal implementation's one-year anniversary. 8/31/12.

In this issue, we looked at the fallout from Chick-fil-A's recent anti-gay controversy and previewed Atlanta's Black Gay Pride weekend 8/17/12.

It's Atlanta Pride weekend! Our Pride issue was packed with all the info you needed for Atlanta's Pride festival in Piedmont Park. Interviews with Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls, Andy Bell of Erasure and a staff-favorite interview with "Uncle Poodle" from the hit TLC show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo." 10/12/12.

The biggest story of 2012 was almost certainly the battle for the White House. We kicked off 2012 with a preview of the year's politics and a look at upcoming LGBT issues that will make local and national headlines. 1/6/11.
