In what might be a first for Atlanta, a new transgender strip night will soon take over XS Ultra Lounge Wednesday nights. The weekly event, billed as “Black Diamond Atlanta Transgender Gentlemen's Club,” kicks off with a preview night April 24.
With two Pink Pony locations, a plethora of options on Cheshire Bridge and at least two all-male strip clubs, Atlanta is no stranger to adult entertainment.
But a night devoted to only transgender entertainers is most likely a first for the city too busy to hate.
“There's never been anything like this in Atlanta before,” says Chanel Monroe, lead dancer and spokesperson for the weekly event.
Each week, there will be 10 or so regular dancers with a rotating cast of as many as 25 additional dancers, Monroe says. Not only will the entertainment staff be transgender, the waitresses and other staff will also be trans.
The expected clientele will be mostly heterosexual men, Monroe says, but she hesitates to label potential clients by sexual orientation or gender identity. Everyone, Monroe says, will be welcome.
