Atlanta gay radio show "Alternative Perspectives" tonight will feature guests speaking about the 10th annual Bayard Rustin/Audre Lorde breakfast held during the MLK Weekend as well as organizers of the planned "Queerlicious Kiss In" for Gov. Nathan Deal's inauguration that was canceled on Monday due to snow. Hosted by longtime activist Betty Couvertier, "Alternative Perspectives" is an LGBT radio show that airs each Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. on WRFG 89.3 FM. Craig Washington will be on the program during the first half of the program to talk about the Bayard Rustin/Audre Lorde breakfast named for the Rustin, who was Martin Luther King's gay friend and a mentor, and Lorde, the renowned black lesbian poet and activist. The breakfast is set for St. Mark United Methodist Church on Monday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. After the breakfast, a march and rally will be held including gay speakers Tracy Elliott, executive director of AID Atlanta; and Anneliese Singh, founder of the Georgia Safe Schools Coalition. Also on tonight's show will be Jess Morgan and Art Izzard from the Queer Justice League and Paul Schappaugh of GetEQUAL GA to discuss the canceled flash mob "kiss in" that was planned for Deal's inauguration on Monday. Late Sunday, the organizers canceled the event. To call in to WRFG 89.3 FM during the show, call 404-523-8989.
