Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and City Councilman Alex Wan are hosting a pre-Pride reception tonight at City Hall for local community activists, the Atlanta Police Department’s LGBT Advisory Board, the APD LGBT Liaisons, Atlanta Pride organizers, non-profit leaders and elected officials. The reception will celebrate 40 years of Atlanta Pride. Around 75 people have been invited to attend. “This is the first time City Hall has been open to a reception for Atlanta Pride and Mayor Reed is thrilled to be kicking-off the week-long celebration for Atlanta Pride’s 40th Anniversary,” said Reese McCranie, deputy director of communications for Mayor Reed. The Atlanta City Council is also scheduled to present a Pride proclamation at today’s council meeting. City Hall Pride Reception
