The Atlanta Citizen Review Board met on Sept. 9 to discuss the raid on the Atlanta Eagle a year earlier. The board found that the Atlanta Police Department improperly detained patrons during the raid. The board called for further investigation into the supervision of the raid and will make recommendations for discipline of the participating officers after the investigation concludes sometime in November. For more details of the meeting, click here.
Attorney Dan Grossman, who represented the staff and patrons of the Atlanta Eagle who were charged the night of the raid, gives his thoughts on the board's call for further investigation.
Atlanta Eagle staff and patrons gathered outside of the bar on Sept. 10, 2010, to make the one-year anniversary of the raid. More than 20 people locked hands in a show of solidarity.
