The Atlanta Dream wrapped up the WNBA Eastern Conference championships last night with a victory over the New York Liberty, securing a spot in the WNBA Finals for the first time in team history. Star forward Angel McCoughtry scored a game-high 42 points and had five steals en route to the WNBA Championship. Atlanta, a third-year franchise, was seen by many as a surprise contender for the 2010 WNBA title. The Dream will face the Seattle Storm in the Finals. The Storm beat Western Conference rivals Phoenix Mercury to earn their second trip to the WNBA Finals. Game one will be Sunday, Sept. 12, at noon and will air on ABC. The Storm will host the first game of the best-of-five series. For more information, please visit www.wnba.com.
