SALES EXECUTIVE

The Georgia Voice has immediate openings for professional, experienced sales executives. Applicants should be familiar with local LGBT businesses and the specific needs of our unique readership.

We offer generous commission and flexible full-time or part-time hours.

To apply, please send a cover letter, along with your resume, to tboyd@thegavoice.com. No walk-ins or phone calls, please.

EDITORIAL INTERNS

The Georgia Voice, the state’s new LGBT media outlet, seeks editorial interns for fall and winter.

Interns should have an interest in a career in journalism and basic familiarity with lesbian and gay civil rights issues.

Interns will perform a variety of tasks, from compiling calendars and writing news briefs to developing full-length articles for publication in our biweekly print edition and daily website (www.thegavoice.com). Interns will gain experience in interviewing, research and writing; opportunities for digital photography, video, social media and web are also available.

Internships are not paid, but we provide supervision for course credit. A minimum commitment of 10 hours per week is required. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; some evening or weekend assignments are possible.

To apply, please send a resume, letter explaining your interest and availability, and three writing samples to editor@thegavoice.com. Previously published articles are preferred; if not available, articles or papers written for coursework are acceptable.

No walk-ins or phone calls, please.

REGIONAL CONTRIBUTORS

The Georgia Voice seeks freelance writers in Athens, Augusta, Columbus, Macon, Savannah and south Georgia.

Writers should be familiar with LGBT organizations and venues in your area and interested in covering news and events. Digital photography experience is a plus.

To apply, please send a resume, letter explaining your interest and experience, and three writing samples to editor@thegavoice.com. Previously published articles are preferred for writing samples.
