The city of Atlanta's first official LGBT travel guide, “Destination: Gay Atlanta,” debuted in Spring 2011 at distribution locations across the city and online at www.gay-atlanta.com. The guide is a joint partnership of GA Voice and the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau. LGBT visitors to Atlanta now have a complete travel resource featuring neighborhood descriptions, major LGBT events, nightlife and bar listings, and friendly hotels, shops and restaurants to plan their vacations and trips to our city. “Destination: Gay Atlanta” will be published annually. Also included in the guide are welcome letters from Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and William Pete, president and CEO of the ACVB.The ACVB has completely revamped the city's gay travel website, www.gay-atlanta.com, which features entertainment, nightlife and community content provided by GA Voice. The digital version of “Destination: Gay Atlanta” resides on the site in flip-book form and can be downloaded there. “Our partnership with the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau ensures that the many LGBT visitors to our city will feel both welcomed and appreciated,” said Chris Cash, publisher of GA Voice. “With the support of ACVB, ‘Destination: Gay Atlanta’ will be easily accessible to people throughout the country. Atlanta's history as a birthplace of civil rights, and its active business and LGBT communities, draw thousands to the city every year. ‘Destination: Gay Atlanta’ insures that LGBT visitors have the information they need to thoroughly enjoy all that Atlanta has to offer. We are proud to participate in this venture with ACVB which extends a warm invitation to enjoy our great southern city.” GA Voice would like to extend a special thank you to all of our advertisers, the city of Atlanta and our readers who helped make "Destination: Gay Atlanta" a success. |
