For more than a decade, Tylan Greenstein has wowed fans as part of Girlyman, the quartet known for tight harmonies and creative folk-pop tunes.
Now she's going solo — using just her first name and releasing her own album, "One True Thing," currently available for pre-order on her website, www.tylanmusic.com.
Girlyman calls Atlanta home, but Tylan recently followed her heart to Sonoma, Calif., because, as she puts it, being in a long distance relationship "gets old."

Hannah Thomas, a 22-year-old native of Covington, Ga., has spent the last few years touring the East Coast and establishing herself as a mainstay on the local music scene. Last year, she won the Georgia Lottery’s All Access Music Search — impressive because she started as one of thousands of contestants competing for the prize of recording an EP at Capitol Records in Los Angeles.
GA Voice sat down with Hannah to hear about the upcoming release of her 7th recording, two upcoming Georgia shows, her Indigo Girl connection and her big, gay announcement.

“Real Man Adventures” by T Cooper is not a memoir. Really.
“It’s not a memoir! I swear!” Cooper states in an email interview.
His book “Real Man Adventures” (McSweeney’s, $23) includes stories about his life, but is so much more. Besides, Cooper stresses, he’s only 40 and that hardly qualifies him to write a memoir.
“There’s a part of the book where I say that the book is ‘a meditation on masculinity with some autobiographical elements’ — and that’s completely true. I mean, it’s a collage: there’s a bunch of interviews in there, conversations, straight journalism, artwork, a couple poems, letters and some essays,” he says.

The Atlanta Freedom Bands will kick off their 20th performance season Dec. 15 with their annual holiday concert, this year titled “Holiday Fantasy,” to be held at North Decatur Presbyterian Church. Tickets to the event are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and senior citizens.
Musicians from both the Atlanta Freedom Bands Concert Band and the MetroGnomes Stage Band will perform.
The concert will feature festive classics and a few surprises, according to Atlanta Freedom Bands President Cliff Norris. Music from “A Nightmare Before Christmas,” “The Nutcracker” and even a meeting between Saint Nick and super-spy James Bond are in the works.

Mitch Grassi is one of two openly gay members of Pentatonix, the a cappella group that came to fame by winning the NBC series “The Sing Off” and continues to draw new fans via YouTube through covers ranging from Gotye to “Gangnam Style.”
Lead vocalists Grassi, Scott Hoying and Kirstie Maldonado performed as a high school vocal trio in Texas, adding members Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola before competing last year on “The Sing Off.”
The diverse group released “Volume 1,” a six-song EP including their cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know,” in June and released “PTXmas,” a holiday CD, this month.
