Organizers behind Atlanta's annual LGBT film festival, Out on Film, today announced the programming for this year's fest. Out on Film takes place Oct. 4-11 at the Landmark Midtown Art Cinema, with some screenings taking place at the Phillip Rush Center. “We are thrilled at this year’s schedule, which has award-winning films, guests, new voices and plenty of local flavor,” said Jim Farmer, festival director of Out On Film, via a media release. “We have everything from James Dean to gay Mormons to Olympia Dukakis playing a lesbian to bears to gay and lesbian ballroom dancers to a ‘gayby’ to a Sundance Award winner to Coco Peru, and also deal with issues of the day such as immigration, AIDS, marriage equality, religion and illegal bar raids,” he said. “It’s also great to be able to screen some retrospective films.” Here's a list of the upcoming features (in alphabetical order):“Bad Boy Street” “BearCity 2: The Proposal” “Elliot Loves” “Gayby” “The Falls” (Eastern premiere) “Fourplay” (Southeastern premiere) “I Want Your Love” “I Do” “Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portrait of James Dean” “Love or Whatever” “Naked As We Came” “A Perfect Ending” “Petunia” “Sassy Pants” “Tennessee Queer” “Turtle Hill, Brooklyn” Retrospective Screenings“Hedwig and the Angry Inch” “Trick” “Yossi and Jagger” International Features“Beyond The Walls” “Cloudburst” “Facing Mirrors” “Kiss Me” “North Sea, Texas” “Yossi” Documentaries“AKA Blondie” “Audre Lorde – The Berlin Years, 1984 to 1992” “Ballroom Rules” “Love Free or Die” “Married and Counting” “M.I., A Different Kind of Girl” “Raid of the Rainbow Lounge” “The Right to Love: American Family” “Transgender Tuesdays: A Clinic in the Tenderloin” “Unfit: Ward vs. Ward” “United in Anger: A History of ACT UP” Additional films to be added.
